China flexing muscle? Frontline combat brigade holds 'live fire drills' in Tibet

China's military said it has conducted live-fire exercises in the remote mountainous Tibet region to test its strike capability on plateaus, amid the standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in the Dokalam area in the Sikkim sector.

The standoff at Sikkim erupted in mid-June, after the Indian forces prevented the road construction party of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) from entering Doklam, lying at the tri-juncture of India, China and Bhutan.

India is especially sensitive to the dispute because it brings Chinese troops closer to a crucial Indian supply corridor, known as the "chicken's neck" which could cut New Delhi off from northeastern states.

The remarks, made by Chinese state media, comes days after New Delhi said it is using diplomatic channels to resolve the issue with Beijing in a "peaceful manner".

The live-fire drills included the quick delivery of troops and different military units working together on joint attacks, which also involved use of anti-tank grenades and missiles.

The river is located in the upper stream of the Brahmaputra, which flows through China, India and Bangladesh. "The 11-hour exercise covering a dozen elements was testimony to the PLA's combined strike capability", the report said.

Amazon still needs to work with developers if it ever wants Alexa to be considered as a competitor to Assistant and Siri. Alexa has been estimated to hold a dominant 70% market share in the United States , outselling Google Home 3-to-1.

China has made it clear that there is no room for negotiations on the border and India should know its incursion will by no means be allowed to become a fait accompli.

"India should not regard the existing situation as the same as or even similar to the previous two stand-offs in 2013 and 2014 near Ladakh, a disputed area between China, Pakistan and India in southeastern Kashmir". The Indian soldiers had stopped Chinese soldiers from constructing a road in the Bhutanese territory, as it will seriously affect the security at the tri-junction and the sensitive Chicken Neck joining the northeast with mainland India.

The video of military drill was released by PLA.

"(By staging) a small-scale drill, China wants to control the problem and lower the risk of shots being fired", he said.

Separately, Tibet's mobile communication agency conducted a drill on July 10 in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, where members of the agency practiced setting up a temporary mobile network to secure communications in an emergency.
