Monaco refusing to sell Thomas Lemar to Arsenal

The Arsenal fan kept his word to get Alexandre Lacazette's face tattooed on his backside

Monaco have turned down two bids by Gunners for Lemar but boss Arsene Wenger will not be put off in his dogged pursuit of the 21-year-old winger and could end up paying more than £48m for his services.

The Ligue 1 outfit are seeing their title-winning squad be ripped apart this summer, with Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko having already moved on.

The Monaco exit of Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea and the likely departure of Benjamin Mendy mean a deal for Lemar is looking increasingly hard.

According to him, Arsenal have struck a deal with AS Monaco for France global winger Thomas Lemar, I can reveal.

A relief centre has been set up at the Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre located at 41-85 Tanderrum Way, Broadmeadows. People are being advised to collect their medicines, pets and belongings and securely lock their houses before leaving.

L'Equipe understood last week - as reported by GFFN - that Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev had no intention with negotiating with Arsenal at all for Lemar, even while the belief is that he would consider a sale for an extortionate price. He made 34 appearances last season and was always on the Gunners' radar.

Multiple agents who have spoken to GFFN this week both on and off the record are unanimous in stating that it is impossible to understand what Monaco's strategy in terms of selling players will turn out to be during this window, despite the fact that we are already almost 7 weeks into it.

They say the deal is done and Arsenal will pay £48m plus add-ons for Lemar. He is reluctant to sell Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, who is also unhappy, and leave himself short of numbers until replacements have been found despite the record signing of Alexandre Lacazette.
