Panasonic has launched a new smartphone in India that has a massive 5,000 mAh battery and is priced economically.

The P55 Max is priced at Rs 8,499 ($132), slightly cheaper than another similar spec'd phone that released in the country. The phone comes with a textured finish at the back as well.

The Panasonic P55 Max features 5.5-inch HD resolution IPS display and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. The internal storage capacity is 16GB and the same can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. "We believe, P55 Max will be the quintessential solution provider for individuals in the value-based smartphone segment", said Pankaj Rana, Business Head- Mobility Division, Panasonic India in a statement.

Panasonic on Monday launched its P55 Max smartphone with 5000mAh battery and 3GB RAM in India. The long lasting 5000mAh battery further ensures the seamless functioning without interruptions. It also has 5 megapixels front camera.

The Mobile Indian reports that a new feature is also in the offering.

This phone incorporates ZipPlay that is claimed to keep all your priorities at your fingertips with simple to use profiles and keeps you connected on the go at home, in the vehicle, at work and anywhere you go. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, A-GPS and few more. The phone measures 152×77.6×8.7mm and weighs 180 g. The phone comes with basic sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity, ambient light sensors, and even has support for USB OTG via the micro USB port.
