Queen biopic production imminent

Queen have announced that the long-awaited and highly anticipated official biopic of their late singer Freddie Mercury is "finally happening" after spending years in production hell.

In a statement, Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May say, "Rami has great presence and he's utterly dedicated to the project". Of course, that "global jukebox" featured Queen with its late front man Freddie Mercury, who completely stole the show at Wembley Stadium and reinforced an already legendary foundation to an worldwide audience long before the internet's existence.

Pre-production for "Bohemian Rhapsody" is set to begin next week, to prepare for principal photography to begin in and around London in the middle of September.

Singer is best known for directing The Usual Suspects and almost the entire X-Men franchise. Later, Ben Whishaw was to star with Dexter Fletcher directing, but more creative issues nixed that team-up.

Taylor and May will executive produce the film, which was reportedly scripted by Anthony McCarten, who wrote the 2014 Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything. That 1985 benefit concert will be "faithfully recreated for a key sequence in the film", notes QOL. "This will be the place to come to stay ahead of all the very latest news and updates as the film gets underway-and hopefully we'll have some regular insider information to share with you too".

Chelsea make transfer offer to Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco
Whether the Blues send him out on a six-month loan and then sell him to the Spanish side is a question we will have to find out. It is believed the 22-year-old will complete his move to the Premier League champions in the next few days.

The official announcement that the film is off and running is years in the making for the long-stalled project originally announced almost eight years ago.

However, nothing summarized the grandiose ethos of Queen more than "Bohemian Rhapsody", which began with Lambert on lead, followed by a cape-clad May popping out from below the stage, and ultimately, Mercury leading the chorus above them all.

Queen also reconfirmed that director Bryan Singer would helm Bohemian Rhapsody.

As for the roles of the other band members, Queen's camp isn't letting that info slip just yet: "You are probably wondering, who will play Roger, Brian and John???"

Come back soon. You don't know what you might be missing.
