Spurs want Barkley done before preseason tour

Ross Barkley

Will Spurs sign Ross Barkley?

For many weeks now, Spurs have looked likely to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

Tottenham remain the only Premier League side not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window so far. However, the 23-year-old is still continuing his development and they should trust the judgement of their manager Pochettino.

In fact they want him on board before they jet-off on their pre-season tour of the USA this week, but are not willing to match Everton's valuation, meaning it is likely to drag on.

However Tottenham are now unwilling to sanction a deal beyond £30m for the 23-year-old, who was regularly challenged by Ronald Koeman last season. "He can help us get better".

Our objective is to create a new product that stays true to our heritage while appealing to both old and new fans of Atari. Clearly inspired by the Atari 2600, the design is a lovely modern reboot of that console.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly spoken to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and told him Barkley is his No1 target. Everton would rather cash in on Barkley now than risk losing him for training compensation next summer.

Tottenham would like to close the deal before this coming Wednesday, when they fly to the United States of America for their pre-season tour. The attacking midfielder would fit the system for Spurs and give them extra ammunition going forward.

Spurs are pursuing Barkley as well as a new right-back to replace Kyle Walker, who was sold to Manchester City for an initial £50m last week.

With Barkley seemingly not in Everton's future plans after big signings Wayne Rooney and Davy Klaassen were already done and Gylfi Sigurdsson just on the horizon, it appears the Blues will not hesitate to sell him.
