Lovington teen electrocuted by a cellphone

Police, parents release photo taken by teen before she was elect - NBC12 - WWBT - Richmond, VA News On Your Side

The girl's parents gave the Lovington Police Department in New Mexico permission to release their daughter's final photo in order to raise awareness about the dangers of using a cellphone while taking a bath.

By a cruel irony, she captioned the photo: "When you use an extension cord so you can plug your phone in while you're in the bath".

RICK WILKINGA mobile phone reportedly caused the death of a Texan teenage girl.

Some assumed that the victim, Madison Coe, dropped her phone in the bathtub, but police revealed that the girl's phone was never submerged in the water.

The grieving grandmother then explained how there was a "burn mark" on Madison's hand from where she grabbed the phone, before adding she hopes it can be a lesson to others in future.

Experts say that extension cords make the situation more unsafe because water could be on the floor, where the extension cord is also lying. Evidence shows she touched the frayed extension cord while she was in the bathtub, which had water in it. Hopefully, the incident will deter others from using cellphones in the bath.

Delhi HC upholds disqualification of MP minister Narottam Mishra
Sources said the government would prefer to wait for the decision of the two-judge bench before taking any decision. However, the court held that the effect of the order on a subsequent election is not to be taken into account.

"There was so much water in her little lungs and it all seemed so unreal", her father said.

"She was such a bright, vibrant, very intelligent, loving, caring young lady", O'Guinn-Downs said.

According to her grandmother, Coe was very sweet and managed to endear herself to just about anyone when she was still alive.

'This is such a tragedy that doesn't need to happen to anyone else, ' she told KCBD. "We want something good to come out of this as awareness of not using your cell phone in the bathroom as it is plugged in and charging", O'Guinn said. We need to teach our children that electricity and water do not mix'.

District officials released a statement, saying: "It is with heavy hearts that Frenship Independent School District mourns the loss of Madison Coe". The family says they will release balloons and share memories.

Her friends and families started a GoFundMe campaign to cover her medical and funeral costs.
