At least 48 people injured in train crash at station in Barcelona

BREAKING: Train crash horror in Barcelona station at rush hour– 48 casualties

Five of the wounded, including the train driver, are said to be in a serious condition.

It is unknown why the train didn't slow down as it came into the station.

The accident occurred as the train was approaching central Barcelona's Francia station during rush hour on Thursday morning.

At least 18 of the injured need hospital attention, with 5 seriously injured, emergency services said.
