Clark speaking publicly for first time since announcing resignation

Former B.C. Premier Christy Clark, who announced on Friday that she was resigning as leader of the B.C. Liberals, says her political career is over.

In the event that the NDP mess up early or get off to a rocky start, British Columbians might have returned the BC Liberals and Clark to power in a snap election scenario.

Her resignation leaves the province and supporters of the BC Liberal coalition of federal conservatives but blue and federal liberals who are all aligned against the NDP, uncertain of the future of the party.

She says she is leaving despite still having full support from the Liberal caucus.

Not long ago, Clark told reporter at a press conference that she would be "more than ready and willing" to take on the job of leader of the opposition.

Six years later, the LNG projects that Clark promised her government would bring to B.C. still haven't materialized.

Sane Trilogy' Really May Be Coming to the Xbox One
Moreover, a release on a different platform at the given date would give the game a strong exclusivity window for PlayStation 4. Sane Trilogy allegedly running with Xbox One button prompts replacing those of the PS4 has surfaced.

Instead, she said Monday that she made a decision to stay to help the party transition to its new role as Official Opposition.

This is that second time that Clark has walked away from provincial politics.

But now by the time a new leader is chosen and the public has an opportunity to get to know them, we may be in an an election with a totally unprepared BC Liberal Party headed by an underexposed BC Liberal Leader.

Surrey MLAs from either side of the political spectrum are thanking former Premier Christy Clark for her public service following her announced resignation last Friday, to take effect August 4.

She said she chose to seek the leadership nearly seven years ago because she wanted her son to see her in public life "trying to do good in the world".

After quitting as a MLA in 2004, Clark had brief and failed venture into municipal politics - she lost the NPA's Vancouver mayoral nomination to Sam Sullivan in 2005 - followed by a three-year (2007-2010) stint as a talk-show host on Vancouver radio station CKNW. It's been an incredible journey the last six-and-a-half years.
