Sanchez to miss Arsenal's EPL opener against Leicester

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to test Arsenal's resolve with a whopping £80m offer for want-away attacker Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Independent.

With Arsenal failing to qualify for this season's Champions League, Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move away from The Emirates Stadium although Wenger has repeatedly said this off-season that the Chile global is not for sale. And since only one year remained in Sanchez's contract, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal chiefs probably should reconsider their intentions.

Sanchez, who also missed the Community Shield win on Sunday, has been linked with an Arsenal exit, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly lining up an £80 million offer. Yes, just two more sleeps to go until Arsenal kick off the Premier League season against Leicester on Friday night.

Such a salary would represent more than a three-fold increase on Sanchez's current £130,000-a-week wage at the Emirates and dwarfs the rival offer of £250,000 a week being offered by Manchester City. "I don't know if it's two weeks, or one more week", Wenger told a news conference on Wednesday. "They are looking for Mbappe, that's that I read in the papers". "There is no reason why we shouldn't do it".

Sethi elected chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board
Pakistan Super League (PSL) chairman Najam Sethi has been elected as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He said he will discuss the Sri Lankan team's tour to Pakistan later this year.

"I think he had in his career some bad moments because he had some small injuries", Wenger said.

"Personally, I think he is a hugely talented player".

"I have plenty of uncertainties about the players who didn't play against Chelsea", said the boss.

However, Wenger has quashed speculation over the Chilean's future, even though Sanchez has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League, a competition Arsenal will be absent from for the first time in two decades this season.
