LawBreakers Reportedly Yields Low Launch Numbers Despite Positive Reception

Lawbreakers PS4 and PC release date

Gravity-defying multiplayer shooter Lawbreakers suffers from profound hitching issues on PlayStation 4, making the game hard to enjoy at launch. A tweet from Boss Key suggests that the problem centers around the change roles and leave match functions of the game. Despite garnering favorable reviews, as well as being the next major project of decorated industry veteran Cliff Bleszinski, LawBreakers just happened to release one day without without any proper marketing campaign to hype up the crowd. This 40 minute run of PS4 Pro gameplay shows a smooth 60 frames per second throughout.

Considering launch is usually the time an online shooter's playerbase is strongest, this weak start for LawBreakers is a big concern.

The game is launching at a lower price point of $29.99 United States dollars. This is a reduction of almost 60 percent over the initial player count from the beta.

Phyllis Francis upsets the field to take gold in the 400m
On a wet evening in the capital, both Felix and Miller-Uibo went out to customary strong starts. But is likely to surpass her later this week if the U.S. manages to win a medal in the relays.

According to GitHyp, LawBreakers' first June Beta peaked at 7,500 concurrent players on Steam. Even at its peak, LawBreakers failed to break the top 100 games played on Steam.

Even though these issues are rearing their ugly heads on the very first day, Boss Key Studios and Nexon, the publisher, are aware of the problems and have been looking to fix them. With such a low number of players, matchmaking could prove disastrous in the coming days. The next beta, which took place a month later, dropped further to 4,500 players.
