Google celebrates 44 years anniversary of Hip Hop with a cool doodle

Today's Google Doodle celebrates the 44th Anniversary of Hip Hop. DJ Kool Herc turning tables.

"Starting with folks like DJ Kool Herc, DJ Hollywood and Grandmaster Flash, the grassroots movement created a new culture of music, art, and dance available to the five boroughs of the city and beyond".

Unlike DJs that followed his lead with hip hop, in his early years he never made the move into commercially recorded music.
