Nintendo Facing Lawsuit Over Switch Design

DrinkBox Studios official website

Gamevice stated to Engadget that they have no comment on the case at this time and Nintendo have yet to give comment. The Gamevice allows player to control their video games using buttons and joysticks, similar to a traditional gaming experience, rather than using the device's touchscreen.

The Gamevice Wikipad, an accessory to turn a tablet into handheld gaming device. However, it never really garnered much of a commercial success. However, This is vastly different from the Nintendo Switch since the Joy-Cons actually slide into place. To be fair, Nintendo has been woking on its own mobile gaming solution for years.

Gamevice demands that Nintendo stop selling the Switch, pays damages for infringing the patent, and pays attorney fees, costs, and all other expenses related to the action.

But the sales shortages haven't hurt sales, because the Nintendo Switch has sold 4.7million units worldwide since launch.

There are some notable differences between the devices, too.

Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chief, drops legal team
Mueller's investigators have sent subpoenas to global banks for information on financial transactions involving Manafort. Probably makes consultant fees from all over the place, who knows ".

The lawsuit comes from accessory maker Gamevice, which alleges that a number of Switch design concepts mimic that of its own Wikipad.

Nintendo has already been slowly coming out with new titles for the Switch as it also recently made its online services available to gamers.

The Nintendo Switch has been notoriously hard to get hold of since releasing on March 3.

And analysts have said it could have sold even MORE if the Switch hadn't been hit by widespread stock shortages.

However, given that Nintendo seems to be equally diligent about filing patents for its various devices, Gamevice may find it has a hard road ahead.
