READ: Trump 'Thanks' Putin For Expelling Over 750 American Diplomats

President Donald Trump Thursday said he's grateful for his Russian counterpart's decision to kick USA diplomats out of his country. "We'll save a lot of money", Mr. Trump said.

About one week into his 17-day "working vacation", President Donald Trump said "thanks" to Russian President Vladimir Putin for expelling USA diplomats in the country.

In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry ordered the United States to 755 staffers, the same number Russia has in the United States, by September 1.

Staff in the embassy in Moscow as well as the consulates in Ekaterinburg, Vladivostok and St Petersburg were affected.

Shortly after the Russian order, the State Department called the decision "a regrettable and uncalled for act".

Virgin Australia to put inflight wi-fi on local, worldwide flights
In-flight Wi-Fi will be delivered in partnership with connectivity company Gogo and satellite telecommunications provider Optus.

Trump didn't show any sign that he was joking about the statement, which reflected the opposite of Putin's stated goal in ordering a cut: to harm the United States.

"And as far as I'm concerned, I'm very thankful that he let go of a large number of people because now we have a similar payroll".

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who is heading up the main investigation into Russian election interference, left Mr Manafort's Alexandria home with "various records", the Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

Trump made the payroll comments to reporters Thursday at his New Jersey golf club, where the president is taking a 17-day "working vacation".
