Sarahah: Why everyone is talking about the 'honesty first' secret messaging app

Sarahah

The idea is so popular, Sarahah was on top of Apple App Store in over 30 countries in July. Developed by Saudi Arabia-based developer ZainAlabdin Tawfiq, the app has already been downloaded over 5 million times on Google Play Store. The app allows anyone with a link to your Sarahah account send you an anonymous message.

"This app will help enhance your areas of strength, strengthen areas for Improvement at your workplace and with friends, it will help improve your friendship by discovering your strengths and areas for improvement and let your friends be honest with you".

Sarahah #App has been roaming around quietly on the mobile app stores over the past one week. Anyone can visit the profile using that link and leave anonymous messages. The application is especially popular among teens who oftentimes share their messages on more public forms of social media, whether they be good or bad.

The posts are courtesy an "honesty" app Sarahah. Moreover, users can also flag messages or mark them as favorite to #Enable them to locate the messages easily in future.

While users have exercised their discretion in signing up for the app, from that point on their discretion is limited and they might be receiving far too many spam or negative messages. Users can be searched using user ID or registered email addresses, but the search function of Sarahah app is not as accurate as other social media platforms due to its anonymity aspect.

While it seems like a fool-proof way to say anything you want without having to put yourself in a situation where you have to deal with any responses, there are risks with Sarahah everyone is now turning a blind eye to.

Users will need to down and register, and once you give your friends the link to your account or post it publicly online, then anyone can send you an anonymous message. neither will you know who sent the message nor will you be able to reply to that message. Well there's an app that will let you deliver some criticism constructively.

Subdued inflation and demand prompted the RBI earlier this month to reduce its key lending rate by 25 basis points to 6 per cent. He said a structural decline in inflation rates and outlook has created scope for lower interest rates and monetary policy .

No, this is not a regular messaging app, and other than sending random anonymous messages to people it doesn't offer much. All received, sent and favourite messages appear in "Messages" tab.

What if the next feature Sarahah developer is planning will allow users to reveal the identity of the sender.

You can't respond to messages now.

Will Sarahah show the identity of senders?

The receiver has an option to either like the message by pressing the heart button and, if they think it is a spam, the user has a choice to block that particular person.

Finally, let us point out some of the important terms and conditions, which most of us tend to ignore and accept before registering.
