Screw the Payload! Overwatch Has a Deathmatch Mode Now

Now available in Overwatch's Public Test Region - which is exclusive to the Windows PC version of the game - are two new kills-only modes, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.

Kaplan did not give a date on when the deathmatch modes would be released to Overwatch other than "really soon".

The Deathmatch game mode will have its own scoreboard and two varieties players can choose to play. Team Deathmatch works the same way, with one interesting wrinkle: If a dead player is resurrected before they respawn, the kill is erased from the opponents' score.

What is confirmed is both modes will be added to the Arcade hopper where Blizzard puts its experimental and custom game modes. This means players won't rage at you for being Hanzo or Widowmaker all the time.

Robert Jeffress: Trump has moral authority to kill North Korean dictator
Unlike former President Barack Obama, who, according to Jeffress, opened the door to the Antichrist and failed to act decisively on matters of national security.

In order to facilitate Deathmatch, Blizzard has modified several Hybrid, Escort, and Assault maps.

If you're in the top four in each match, you'll get win credit toward your loot boxes.

Kaplan also explained some of the maps have been modified to accommodate the two game modes, and a new map was made exclusively for Deathmatch. Plus, the aforementioned Château Guillard has not only been teased as having "great gameplay" thanks to lots of "jump pads" and "open areas" for Pharah to use for flight, and "tight Reaper corridors", but also its story and artwork is engaging as well, for it was originally home to Amélie Lacroix (AKA Widowmaker). In the video (which you can check out above), Kaplan explains that he "didn't think (deathmatch) was right for the game" originally due to the team's focus on objective-based play but that the Arcade came along and changed all that. According to the developer update below, Deathmatch requires a player to get 20 kills first, in the Team Deathmatch game, the first team to reach 30 kills wins. It was in the last summer games event as well, but it's updated now to function a little better.
