Keith Ellison Says Kim Jong Un 'Acting More Responsible' Than Trump

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), deputy chairman of the Democratic National Convention, claimed Friday that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un is more responsible than President Donald Trump.

North Korea in its current form traces its roots back to the end of World War II when the Korean Peninsula was split in two: The Soviet Union controlled the north, and the US controlled the south.

"You have this guy [Trump] making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there", Ellison said. When you hear words come out of his mouth, it seems like they could come out of the mouth of Kim Jong-un. And what I'm telling you is once you start seeing missile launches, you're going to see-the time for cranking up the anti-war machine is right now.

Pentagon officials told Fox News on Friday that the U.S. military stands ready to "fight tonight" on the Korean Peninsula, as President Trump said the U.S.is "locked and loaded" and retweeted images from U.S. Pacific Command showing B-1B Lancer bombers on Guam.

Science teacher headed to SC for eclipse
Everyone above 96th Street saw totality - when the moon completely covers the disk of the sun - and everyone below did not. If your skies turn out to be overcast on the day of the eclipse, there's still ways that you can take part in the event.

After the panel wrapped up, Ellison walked back his remarks to Dave Weigel of The Washington Post. "It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse".

"That was one of those I wish I'd not said", Ellison explained. "I mean, his rhetoric might make Kim Jong Un think that he needs to strike first", the Minnesota Democrat explained. "What we need is someone bringing calm to the situation, not spiking it". "Hopefully Kim Jong-un will find another path!"

The Republican National Committee took issue with Ellison's analysis of the two political leaders. Michael Ahrens, the RNC's rapid-response director, sent the video of Ellison's comment to reporters, calling it "insane" and and challenging Democrats to respond.
