PDP convention: We can not afford another mistake -Mark

The meeting which holds at the party's national secretariat Abuja is to prepare the party for its non-elective convention selected for Saturday, August 12, at Eagles Square Abuja.

This is the first national gathering of the party members since the Supreme Court judgement that reaffirmed Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Caretaker Committee Chairman after ousting the former chairman, Ali Sheriff.

"While I was in the party as a member, I paid my dues to the fullest until I retired from partisan politics in 2015".

"It is time for self examination for all of us and to return to what is right bearing in mind our mistakes in the past".

"If there are interested members of the Caretaker Committee for elective positions, such as President, Senator or Governor, such persons should not remain in office as members of the Caretaker Committee for more than three months".

Delta Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had recovered and returned to restore vibrancy and integrity to Nigeria's democracy, and urged Nigerians to partner the party. Part of The Ekweremadu Committee Report which zoned the Presidency to the North and the National Chairmanship to the South should be adopted.

Premier League updates from Goodison Park
Their only opening-match victory in the last nine seasons came in 2012-13, when they beat Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park. Only this summer, Wayne Rooney has returned to the Goodison Park, and former Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez from Malaga also.

"We must root out the past mistakes and make the needs and aspirations of the Nigerian people the centrepiece of our party's democratic agenda".

Indeed. And the electorate can see through all the politicking and selfish interests in both the exits and the speeches of acceptance in new parties and what have you.

"As a party we will continue to work hard not to lose anybody, but will work much harder to bring in more members to the party", he said.

The question is, as we race to 2019 and Nigeria's defining election, will the electorate come out en masse to vote someone out or in? It had the former Senate President, Senator David Mark, GCON, former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. We are leaving no stone unturned in doing that.

In the statement endorsed by his Media aide, Paul Mumeh, Mark said asked the delegates to ensure peaceful conduct adding that only a good outing can further unite the party and give all faithful a sense of belonging. "Those who are decamping from PDP to APC are fair-weather friends of the party".
