How Arsenal's Players Fared In Their Thrilling Opener Against Leicester City

However, Wenger has now revealed that Giroud has opted to stay at Arsenal and fight for his place in the team beyond the summer.

Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his Arsenal players after they were forced to come from behind twice to take a 4-3 win over Leicester in the Premier League curtain raiser for the 2017-18 season.

The Premier League is back with a bang! Things got off to a good start for the home side as Lacazette only needed two minutes to score his first competitive goal for his new club.

Marc Albrighton's deep cross caught out the Arsenal backline, including goalkeeper Petr Cech, and led to Harry Maguire's knock-down finding Okazaki, who made no mistake with his close-range header.

Arsenal came out the second half still struggling and Leicester scored their second goal from a corner to make it 2-3 in the 56th minute.

Wall Street finished a hard week on a high note
The Russian dollar-traded index RTS was down 1.49 percent, and ruble-traded MICEX fell 1.29 percent by midday. They have soared over 2 percent in the previous two sessions, and are set for a weekly gain of 2.25 percent.

The 28-year-old watched from the stands as Olivier Giroud's late header earned the Gunners three points. Only two minutes later, Giroud completed Arsenal's comeback as he scored what proved to be the match victor from Granit Xhaka's corner. Wenger would not discuss this evening who may be departing his bloated squad, but said players needed to play and that in some positions he had three or four players fighting for the same spot in the team. If he sticks with one man up front, then Giroud will be behind Lacazette and Sanchez in the pecking order.

"I'm happy the goals we conceded we can work on together".

Wenger has said Giroud will not be leaving the club during the transfer window despite apparent interest from Everton and Marseille.

"I opened the door for him at some stage [to leave], because I know that it's important for him to play", Wenger said in his postgame news conference.

Ahead of the Leicester City fixture, Arsenal had only won their first fixture of the season once in the last six season, and this gives added importance to their victory. Next up for the Gunners is a meeting August 19 at Stoke City's bet365 Stadium.
