Liverpool Wants to Extend Roberto Firmino's Contract at Anfield This Season

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has repeatedly said the club will not be selling the 25-year-old Coutinho, who has become a key player for the Premier League team and Brazil in recent years.

The Spanish giants are yet to reinvest the £195m that they received when Neymar completed a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

Liverpool's season would be destroyed if Philippe Coutinho was to leave for Barcelona, Oliver Holt said on the Sunday Supplement.

The Reds boss has said that the "timing" of Coutinho's request to leave Liverpool makes it even more out of the question, adding that it's impossible to put a price on the Brazil global because it's too late in the window to try to replace him. Then Jamie Vardy put them ahead in the 29 minute before Danny Welbeck struck the equaliser just before the break.

"If they don't sell him, then I'm not involved anymore".

'I am responsible for all of players, not just one, two or three.

Speaking after Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Watford, where Miguel Britos scored a 93rd-minute equaliser to darken the manager's mood further, Klopp outlined how things work at Anfield when it comes to transfers, in particular the fact that he does not have total control when it comes to players' futures. "That's what I'm always doing".

Will North Korea rain on Wall Street's endless summer?
The dollar was down 0.53 per cent against the yen at ¥109.48 (RM4.30), after briefly dropping as low as ¥109.53. South Korean stocks extended losses late Thursday morning as North Korea risks weighed on the main index.

"I was not too happy with the positioning when we were 3-2 [up], we were a little bit too deep and it means the long balls in behind, if you lose it, it's directly a chance".

A fully-fit Emre Can believes Liverpool's vibrant and enthusiastic dressing room can generate a positive start to the Premier League season. We had the [Robert] Lewandowski thing [at Dortmund] and that was hard when he went to Bayern on a free transfer.

"We came here to win and I think that would have been deserved".

Klopp, who pointed to the statement Liverpool issued on Friday when asked whether anything had changed from the club's perspective, chose his words carefully.

After the Brazilian handed in a transfer request on Friday, Klopp conceded that at this point there is little he can do to influence the situation.

"I have said what the club's decision is about this and now you can read it - that is maybe the only difference. A lot of money is on offer but I can't see that Liverpool need that money".

Scoring goals wasn't a problem for Liverpool at Vicarage Road despite the absence of unsettled playmaker Philippe Coutinho but the visitors couldn't keep them out either, showing lessons haven't been learnt from last season. After a decent start which saw the Hornets in the top half of the table for much of the first part of last season, Watford descended into the relegation-watch zone, finishing the campaign with five straight losses.
