Yuvraj Singh dropped, Manish Pandey back for ODIs, T20I

India's Shikhar Dhawan right and Lokesh Rahul run between the wickets during the first day's play of their third cricket test match against Sri Lanka in Pallekele Sri Lanka Saturday Aug. 12 2017

Following a string of low scores, Yuvraj Singh was on Sunday dropped from the India squad for the upcoming five-match one-day global series and one-off T20I against Sri Lanka, starting August 20. Rohit Sharma is a certainty to again wear the blue jersey, but it's still not known whether the selectors would rest Rahul despite being fully fit.

Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina were overlooked by the selectors, while Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant also missed the cut.

Rahul's inclusion means there will be four regular openers in the squad and it is likely that the Karnataka batsman will be playing in the middle order.

Meanwhile, Manish Pandey, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel and KL Rahul have also made a come back into the team.

Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch sits during national anthem vs. Cardinals
The coach said he spoke to Lynch and was told this is nothing new for the running back. Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio didn't know he was going to do that.

The bowling department might see some shuffling as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami are set to be rested. Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal also got a call-up for the series starting from August 20.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the India Cricket Team for the five-match One Day International series and only Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka.

Former India skipper M.S. Dhoni was among a bunch of cricketers who underwent fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy here ahead of the limited-over series against Sri Lanka.

RohitSharma, who was rested for the West Indies series, returns and will be the vice-captain of the side. The only T20I will be played on September 6.
