Cedar Point unveils new 'Steel Vengeance' coaster

Cedar Point built the Mean Streak coaster near the back of the park in 1991 at a cost of $7,500,000.

Steel Vengeance will be located in the FrontierTown portion of the park. He predicts it could be the highest, fastest, steepest and longest steel-hybrid coaster in the world, and have the most inversions (four).

Coaster fans across the country say they haven't been this excited about a ride announcement at Cedar Point since 1999, when plans for Millennium Force were unveiled.

Hope Hicks tapped for interim White House communications director
Hicks survived frequent turnover in the top ranks of the Trump campaign a year ago and later the Trump White House. Hicks has been close by Trump's side since the early days of the campaign and is one of his most trusted staffers.

Mean Streak closed in 2016. The coaster's figure-eight layout will create "a fast-paced journey" with multiple airtime hills, twists and dives, overbanked turns and surprise maneuvers. The Idaho-based company is known for its masterful conversions of wood coasters into steel-wood hybrids. The ride is expected to be the tallest, fastest, and longest hyper roller coaster in the world. Twisted Timbers will feature a 109-foot tall barrel roll drop, 3351 feet of track, and reach a top speed of 54-miles-per hour, according to a park spokesperson. "It'll be an extremely wild experience for our guests".

In 1940, Lakeside Amusement Park debuted it's own version of the Cyclone and after seeing the Woodside Park roller coaster in Philadelphia in 1964, John Elitch and his wife made a decision to open a similar coaster in Denver.
