Williams targets 'outrageous' Australian Open defence

Williams is famous for her competitive streak and is insistent she will be a force when she returns to tennis - even that if it isn't at the 2018 Australian Open.

The tennis star is eight months pregnant and has not competed since disclosing in April that she was expecting-weeks after winning the 2017 Australian Open almost two months into her term.

Williams has been keeping her fans updated on the highs and lows of pregnancy and crowdsourcing advice for dealing with the not-so glamorous parts ― from heartburn to back pain to sleep struggles.

"It's hard to figure out what the end of your tennis career should look like", said Williams, who is unaware of the gender of the baby she is having with fiance Alexis Ohanian. I'm so used to me-me-me, taking care of my health, my body, my career. "But no. I'm definitely coming back. But there's no better feeling in the world".

And now, in an interview for the September issue of Vogue in the US, Williams has casually mentioned that she is already starting to prepare for the next Australian Open, which she hopes to win.

Red Sox turn first triple play in 6 years vs Cardinals
It was the first triple play for Boston since August 16, 2011, in Game 2 of a doubleheader against Tampa Bay. Rafael Devers started Boston's first triple play since the 2011 season on Tuesday.

Especially since I'm not 20 years old", Williams told Vogue. She said: "The biggest thing is that I don't really think I'm a baby person". "I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble". She now has more than a dozen endorsement partners, including Beats by Dre, Gatorade, J.P. Morgan Chase, Nike, Tempur-Pedic, and Intel. I believe that the other girls in the locker room will say, 'Serena's really nice.' But Maria Sharapova, who might not talk to anybody, might be perceived by the public as nicer.

Williams is one grand slam shy of Australian Margaret Court's long-standing record of 24 major titles.

"Obviously, if I have a chance to go out there and catch up with Margaret, I am not going to pass that up", Williams said. "I'm like, 'Mom, what do you really, really need?' So she really gave me the low-down", Sport24 quoted Venus, as saying.

Her latest update is one many moms know all too well. As I've gotten older I've started to feel differently about it. Power is beauty.

"Not really, but I want to (feel that pressure)", she said.
