Quake Champions hits Steam Early Access next week

Quake Champions Early Access to Begin August 22nd

Quake Champions Early Access is nearly ready to start. The Quake series was one of the first to popularize the subgenre with Quake III Arena in 1999. Quake Champions will be released on through Steam and the Bethesda.net launcher starting on August 22 on Early Access.

"With a fast, skill-based game like Quake Champions, nothing is more important than continual testing and refining, based on player feedback, to ensure the game is balanced, optimized, and fun for all levels of players, from pro to new", said Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software.

The $29.99 is technically the "Champions' Pack", which includes all the game's current and future characters, an Early Access-exclusive skin for a character, and three loot crates. "The Early Access version of Quake Champions is, obviously, a work-in-progress, but represents a solid and robust version of the game, with four modes, 11 Champions, a variety of maps, and a thriving community of fans". In the meantime, much like the recent hit PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Quake Champions will live in the ever-changing land of Early Access, where changes will be made, things will be added, and more will spruce up players' experiences.

Solar eclipse 2017: Map, path and forecast for viewing in your backyard
But library officials have since been informed that the glasses have not been verified to be safe, according to the statement. Depending on your location in this path, the moon will eclipse the sun entirely for up to 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

If you're patient and don't want to spend any money, the actual release of Quake Champions will have a free-to-play option that only starts you with the Ranger.

Bethesda also announced that the next playable character coming to Quake Champions is the Doom guy (whose official name is Doom Slayer). Right you are. Quake Champions' free-to-play edition will launch sometime in the future.

You can pick up the Champions Pack for $30 while the game is in Early Access. His active ability, Berserk, enables him to rip and tear enemies with his bare hands (he'll punch them, actually, but you know what I mean), while his passive ability is the thrust boots-enabled Double Jump.
