Lady Gaga to appear in court for Kesha, Dr. Luke legal battle

Lady Gaga

Back in 2014, Kesha had accused her former mentor and producer, Dr. #Luke, also known as Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, of physical and mental abuse, but more than one year after she withdrew the case, Dr. Luke is still in court suing her. Kesha, whose real name is Kesha Sebert, has accused Gottwald of sexual assault and is countersuing him.

In a statement, attorney Oryn Snyder stated, "Lady Gaga has always been prepared to testify so long as reasonable limitations were established. This motion has become necessary because Dr. Luke's counsel has not been able to obtain, despite repeated request, a deposition date from Lady Gaga".

According to TMZ, Dr. Luke wanted Gaga to be questioned for hours and to produce an unredacted copy of her text message exchange with Kesha, as her previous submission of their conversation had been so censored it was allegedly "incomprehensible".

While Kesha may have made a triumphant return to the music business with her acclaimed new album Rainbow, her legal battles are far from over. Kesha's lawsuit contained some shocking claims including Luke forcing the singer to take drugs the sexually assault her while she was high. Her new album is all about the legal ordeal she has been facing for the past three years. Lady Gaga and Kesha spoke about the case via text message and what actually happened between Kesha and Dr. Luke. However, Dr. Luke has used this against her, and tried to make it appear as though Lady Gaga has been "denying reasonable requests" and spinning it to make it sound like there was no actual hard evidence against him. She is seeking to get out of her contract with his label so he can not financially benefit from her work. Kesha only option was to fulfill her obligations in the contract to get her freedom. The world is waiting to see how Dr. Luke's defamation case against her will end.
