Britney Spears sings live following lip-syncing criticism

2016 Billboard Music Awards- Show

The star chose to put those lip syncing rumours to shame by belting out a cover of Bonnie Raitt's infamous hit Something To Talk About while performing in Las Vegas.

Before singing the rendition of Something To Talk About, Spears spoke openly and commented that her choice in song was intentional. So I've been doing a lot thinking lately, right?.

According to Entertainment Tonight, during her show in Las Vegas on Sunday night, Spears stopped the show and spoke directly to the audience, saying, "The press and the media my whole life, because one minute they tear you down, they're really disgusting, and the next minute, you're on top of the world". And, I'm a Southern girl.

Spears has been known to lip sync during all her live performances, especially earlier this year when video of her mic getting caught in her hair while her vocals remained ideal surfaced. "And I have to keep it real, so I just want to make sure I keep having you motherfuckers something to talk about, okay?"

In June, Spears was asked how much of her performances are live during an Israeli television show.

The talk about her vocals has intensified as she's continued her "Britney Spears: Piece of Me" residency in Vegas, which opened in December 2013.

It all went down when the Slave 4 U singer stopped her show midway and proceeded to give the audience a speech about how the media love to bring people down. And nobody ever really gives me credit for it'. That date was the last time she posted to herInstagrambefore her return this week.
