The International Space Station just photobombed the eclipse

"Millions of people saw #Eclipse2017 but only six people saw the umbra, or the moon's shadow, over the United States from space today", NASA tweeted from the International Space Station account.

ISS transits over the sun aren't uncommon and often make for excellent photos, but it's incredibly rare that you're going to get the sun, moon, and space station all in one image.

"It occurred to me that I got to see quite a few solar eclipses". If you see the eclipse, it means you're in the path of the moon's shadow as it crosses the planet.

One killed in Marseille after auto crashes into bus shelters: Police source
La Provence reported that the suspect came to Marseille specifically for psychiatric treatment in a specialized institution. The local newspaper quotes police sources who state the individual was known to police, and has "psychological problems".

The International Space Station, with a crew of six onboard, is seen in silhouette as it transits the Sun at roughly five miles per second during a partial solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 near Banner, Wyoming.

A NASA photographer captured this incredible eclipse photobomb during the partial eclipse.

NASA has previously said that the ISS crewmembers will likely not see the total solar eclipse, but instead it will be a partial viewing. NASA Television will air a multi-hour show, Eclipse Across America: Through the Eyes of NASA, with unprecedented live video of the celestial event, along with coverage of activities in parks, libraries, stadiums, festivals and museums across the nation, and on social media.
