Apple comes out in support of net neutrality

Jeremy Sarachan chair of the media and communication department at St. John Fisher College

In May, the FCC voted 2-1 to advance Republican FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's plan to withdraw the 2015 order reclassifying internet service providers as if they were utilities.

Net neutrality, or more specifically the Trump FCC's attempts to butcher it, are a hot topic lately.

While millions of individuals (and possibly a few bots) weighed in on the proposal, so did companies.

The comment's a good - albeit late - start, but it does leave some wiggle room, as it, for instance, doesn't advocate for keeping internet traffic under Title II.

It will be hard to figure out exactly how many comments were filed by the deadline since the FCC is at the same time posting comments that have come in in the two days since the deadline.

Ream, Wood gets starts for U.S. against Costa Rica
On the road Costa Ricans score points with fights, tied with Honduras 1: 1, beating Trinidad 2-0 and losing to Mexico 0: 2. More so than having good support, however, was the way that talented Costa Rica managed to execute its gameplan.

In June, 30 internet service companies wrote to the FCC to show support for net neutrality. Still, it's best to get your comments on the record before the end of the day tomorrow.

"Broadband providers should not create paid fast lanes on the internet", Apple said in its filing. The businesses warn policymakers that, "While big companies might be able to afford a pay-to-play prioritized "fast lane" to users, small and medium sized enterprises like ours can not". However, Apple has said that it has no problem trying out alternative sources of legal authority, as long as, the body provides legally sustainable, enforceable and strong protections.

In addition, Walsh claimed that weeding out the supposedly fraudulent comments would reveal "the large majority of commenters" support reversing net neutrality protections-the position held by AT&T and other major internet service providers.

Evan Greer, campaign director for Fight for the Future, said: "The unprecedented number of comments in the FCC docket underscores what everyone already knows: people freakin' love the free and open internet and are willing to fight tooth and nail to defend it". That's one of the key provisions the FCC now uses to enforce net neutrality.

Pai has said previously that the rollback was necessary because the regulations were straitjacketing providers' ability to introduce innovative technologies to the market.
