John McCain: 'I'm facing a challenge'

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. John McCain R-Ariz. arrives for a Republican policy meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington on Tuesday

All the results so far are excellent.

In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, the Arizona senator framed his brain cancer diagnosis as one of a number of obstacles he's sought to overcome during his life. And there's two ways of looking at these things, and one of them is to celebrate.

Asked why a wide swath of his party denied the scientific community's conclusions about climate change, McCain answered, "I don't know".

McCain, on Sunday, said he hoped people would remember him as someone who served the United States well.

McCain recently completed his first round of chemotherapy and radiation, and he said that he would have an MRI on Monday, an imaging technique used to evaluate medical conditions.

"I think that we can say honorably", Tapper responded.

Former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson makes his National Football League debut for Texans
The offensive line struggled mightily for the Texans as Houston quarterbacks were sacked 10 times by Jacksonville defenders. But coach Bill O'Brien insisted he'd back up Savage and raved about the progress of the third-year player.

The measure passed the Senate with 17 "no" votes - all of them Republicans, including McCain - shortly after Trump made the agreement with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. "And, I'm very confident about getting through this one as well". He added that the deal "is basically devastating to national defense" by not adding additional funding from current levels, which is "unconscionable".

The Senate Armed Services chairman spoke on CNN's "State of the Union".

Mr. McCain urged to replace the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals campaign to be done in a comprehensive immigration package that will provide the permanent protections for young immigrants.

"We need to do that and make the DREAMers part of it", he said, adding that it's "not conscionable to tell young people who came here as children that they have to go back to a country they don't know".

McCain, the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, pointed out almost 900 of the so-called "Dreamers" serve in the military. Made a lot of errors, but served his country. "I'm facing a challenge, but I've faced other challenges", he said.
