11-year-old boy gets lawn-mowing gig at White House

White House

The White House said FX had written to Mr Trump to say he admired the president's business acumen and ran his own neighbourhood lawn-care business.

"Even though I'm only 10, I'd like to show the nation what young people like me are ready for", Sanders read.

An 11-year-old boy had his wish to mow the White House lawn fulfilled Friday, and not even a chat with President Donald Trump could slow him down.

The boy, named Frank, says he started his own business, mowing neighbors' lawns in Falls Church, Virginia.

FX said he normally charges eight dollars per lawn (about £5.90) but made a decision to mow the White House lawn free of charge.

Trump injects Florida tour with dose of politics
Trump reiterated his hope that Scott runs for the Senate in 2018. "This is a state that I know very well, as you understand". Widespread outages led to long lines outside of the relatively few stores, gas stations and restaurants that had reopened.

Frank's request became reality when he was invited to the White House to mow the Rose Garden lawn and meet the president. He and his father also got the chance to see the Oval Office.

Interviewed on the Fox Business network before heading to the White House, Frank said the day was shaping up to be "pretty much the best day of my life".

Giaccio may not get paid the standard $8 he gets for mowing lawns, but an A-plus from the president of the United States is worth a whole lot more.

In fact, when President Trump came up to him and said he was doing a "great job" Frank just kept mowing until the groundskeeper and Frank's dad stepped in.

Trump called the boy the "future of our country" on Friday, and vowed to bring Giaccio into the Oval Office following the grass-chopping session.
