U.S. exhausting patience for diplomatic solution to North Korea crisis: McMaster, Haley

Bannon says Christie was passed over for cabinet position because of lack of support during Billy Bush scandal

President Donald Trump's national security adviser says the US has a military option for North Korea, but that is not its preferred route.

McMaster said new sanctions on North Korea are just going into effect and need to be given a chance to work.

His comments were echoed by Ms Haley, who said the USA had plenty of options in dealing with North Korea.

McMaster stressed Friday that the U.S.is still trying to resolve the conflict diplomaticcaly. "The United Kingdom stands with the people of Japan in face of this bad, egregious, illegal, provocative, reckless act by the North Korean regime, which once again demonstrates their complete disregard for the sovereignty and the citizens of one of their neighbours", the British Ambassador to the UN, Matthew Rycroft told reporters after the meeting of the Security Council.

McMaster encouraged the rigorous enforcement of the global sanctions, adopted Monday, in an effort to exhaust all efforts to confront "this global problem short of war".

At Stockley's direction, the driver of the police auto slammed into Smith's vehicle and they came to a stop, court documents said. Bruntrager said there was no visual evidence of Stockley with the gun prosecutors allege he planted.

The launch is the second to flyover Japan in less than a month, and the first since North Korea's sixth nuclear test and new United Nations sanctions on the country.

Those options are "not only effective but overwhelming", Trump added for his part, after reviewing a military base near Washington.

In New York, the U.N. Security Council unanimously condemned the launch and called it a "highly provocative" act. "As Ambassador Haley said before, we've been kicking the can down the road and we're out of road".

The last set of sanctions included restrictions on North Korea's oil imports and a ban on its textile exports.

With Haley leading the way, the United Nations has placed increased sanctions on North Korea due to its belligerent behavior regarding its nuclear program.
