Carmelo Anthony expected to be at media day, set good example

"We don't focus or look back on what happened and the reasons behind it all we can do is look forward and we've been in touch with Kristaps", Mills said.

Knicks president Steve Mills said that he expects Carmelo Anthony to be with the team on Monday for Media Day and Tuesday for the start of training camp. The Houston Rockets are the no.1 trade destination for the star, as the team offers him the opportunity to play alongside his buddy Chris Paul and perennial All-NBA team player James Harden. So we're going to continue to do that on a daily basis, whether it's entertaining calls or obviously internal development is going to be important for us.

The Knicks have had talks with teams for several months about trading Anthony but nothing has come to fruition. The team will hold its media day on Monday.

According to a source, the Porzingis-Hornacek dynamic last season was radioactive.

Yet they aren't anxious about Anthony causing any problems. That's one thing I've always respected about him.

According a Fox News reporter, Medrano continued to ramble about Cuba before leaving the machete at the door of the store. Ina Treciokas, a spokeswoman, for Kim Kardashian West , declined to comment on the incident.

"I think in our position you always keep an open mind, '" Perry said. Both Melo and the Knicks organization would prefer to part ways, but Anthony has a no-trade clause and the team is not willing to take back an unfavorable contract in any deal. It will be good for (GM) Scott [Perry] to get a chance to get to know him and build a relationship but I think we're really good at building relationships with people and I'm very confident that we will make him feel good about being a Knick and make him feel good about the environment here.

But it still appears the Knicks have some fences to mend with Porzingis.

"KP and I have a good relationship, " Hornacek said.

The 7-foot-3 Porzingis said he wanted to get stronger to help him stay on the court and handle double-teams and different defenses better. Coach Jeff Hornacek said Anthony's role wouldn't change and he would remain in the starting lineup.

"What I will say is that Carmelo is a professional", Perry said.
