Here's why Ellen DeGeneres won't invite Donald Trump onto her show…

The new program Megyn Kelly Today debuts Monday

Kelly's interview with TVNewser.com published Friday comes as her new 9 a.m. ET program "Megyn Kelly Today" is set to launch on NBC as the third hour of "The Today Show" on Monday.

Ellen sat down with Megyn Kelly yesterday and (of course) the topic of Trump came up.

She continued: 'There's nothing I'm gonna say to him that's gonna change him, and I don't want to give him a platform - it validates him. And I can't have someone that I feel is not only unsafe - for the country, and for me personally as a gay woman - but to the world.

Kelly also said her new show will only partially focus on politics because she is "sick" of everything being political.

Ghani and Trump agree rare earth minerals to boost national security
Last month, Trump had issued the sternest warning yet by an American leader to Pakistan for providing safe havens to terrorists. The U.S. also has threatened to withhold military aid from Pakistan.

"I was doing just fine, so I don't appreciate when people suggest I was some college co-ed prior to Donald Trump finding me in obscurity and plucking me out", she said. She told TV Newser that being at NBC is "a relief" because she is "out of the vitriolic stew that is cable news prime time", and also admits that there is "media bias" against the president. Her self-exclaimed desire to move away from political coverage was strained even further with the 2016 election cycle when then-candidate Donald Trump took aim at Kelly after she confronted Trump during a Republican Presidential Debate.

Reportedly, the show's producers had to practically beg fans to attend her segment as they initially weren't able to sell out the entire studio.

"That was true in my case, too. It's like politics has become like race: you can't discuss it at all", she said. I just feel like this is between me and my viewers.

She furthermore added: 'Now I'm going to get bad tweets! This wasn't the life I wanted.
