New Game of Thrones prequel is now happening

Game Of Thrones Writer Bryan Cogman Working On Spin-Off With ...

It's amusing that Martin should call the mystery writer an "addition", because it turns he's been with Game of Thrones since season one.

In a 2011 interview with Westeros.org, Cogman discussed in some detail how he joined the series and described the first (of many) times that he read Martin's debut A Song of Ice and Fire novel.

One is "Dunk & Egg", a series of novellas that are still being written by George, who wants to write "at least seven or eight or 10 more", saying: "I don't want to repeat what happened with Game of Thrones itself, where the show gets ahead of the books". Martin further said that he and Cogman will be co-creating the successor show and that the two will be working together "every step of the way".

The other four writers announced by HBO earlier that month include Max Bortstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Brian Helgeland (A Knight's Tale, Robin Hood) and Carly Wray (Mad Men, The Leftovers).

A fifth "Game of Thrones" spin-off project is in the works, according to a new report from Entertainment Weekly.

Death threats as Catalan referendum debate turns ugly
Sturgeon's National Party has formerly called for a fresh vote on independence before Britain leaves the European Union (EU). Some 2,000 students are staging a separate pro-referendum demonstration at one of Barcelona's main universities.

It can be recalled that due to the delay in the release of "The Winds of Winter", the producers of "Game of Thrones" had to come up with their own version of the story just so they could continue on with the sixth season of the TV adaptation. Cogman is writing the series, working closely with author George R.R. Martin. He also called Cogman "The Keeper of the Lore" and praised his extensive knowledge of GoT and its canons.

The blog post they're referring to is from Martin's adorably old fashioned LiveJournal, where he confirmed that he's working with all the the writers and producers on the upcoming new series.

"We could possibly see two or even three make it to the pilot stage, with one series emerging on air in 2019 or 2020... and the others maybe later".

The author also dropped a huge hint over what fans could expect from the prequel which won't be including any of the current Game of Thrones cast. "Some may not even be set on Westeros".
