Jim Harbaugh, Michigan Wolverines name QB John O'Korn as starter

Wilton Speight is going to be out for the foreseeable future.

Backup quarterback John O'Korn will fill in as starter, including for this weekend's rivalry game against Michigan State in Ann Arbor.

MI quarterback Wilton Speight is expected to miss "multiple weeks" due to an undisclosed injury, Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh announced Monday.

Speight suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury in Michigan's September 23 win over Purdue. True freshman Dylan McCaffrey will be the third-string QB.

Speight was sacked September 23 by Purdue's Markus Bailey and took another hit from Eddy Wilson with 5:06 to go in the first quarter.

N to re-elect Nawaz as party president today
The former Prime Minister had earlier appeared before the accountability court last week. It marks the formal process of re-electing Sharif as party president, the report said.

The No. 7 Wolverines face Michigan State at home on October 7, and then they hit the road for two straight weeks to face IN followed by No. 4 Penn State.

O'Korn will at least start the Michigan State game for the Wolverines and likely several more this year. O'Korn replaced Speight and finished the 28-10 victory, completing 18 of 26 passes for 270 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. He lost his starting role to Greg Ward as a sophomore and chose to transfer.

Once Speight left the game, O'Korn took over. He has thrown for 581 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions in his first four starts.

Michigan, 4-0 on the season, is ranked No. 7 nationally.
