Indonesian suspect Siti Aisyah left and Vietnamese suspect Doan Thi Huong both suspects in the killing of Kim Jong Nam North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's estranged half brother are escorted out of cou

The four were formally accused in March of the assassination alongside Aisyah and Huong but authorities said they were still at large and have not disclosed their names.

The trial of the two alleged assailants, Siti Aisyah and Doan Thi Huong, began in a Malaysian court on Monday, with Aisyah and Huong facing the death penalty for their role in the murder.

The police have also named four North Koreans as suspects in the case and an Interpol red notice, an global alert just short of an arrest warrant, has been issued for them, who remain at large.

The policeman was shown a copy of Kim's diplomatic passport, marked "DPR Korea" on the cover and carrying the name Kim Chol, by the prosecutor and confirmed it is the same one.

The incident led to a diplomatic row and a severe strain in ties between the two countries, which expelled each other's ambassadors.

"There must be fairness, but we respect the judge's decision this morning", Hisyam later told reporters.

The women, who pleaded innocent at Malaysia's High Court, have said they thought they were playing a harmless prank for a hidden-camera TV show and had been hoodwinked by men suspected of being North Korean agents.

The estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was killed with a banned nerve agent on February 13.

Adzrul, who was on duty at klia2's Klinik Menara on the day Jong Nam died, also described his patient's blood pressure as "very high".

Four others believed to be involved in the killing are still at large. Witnesses are expected to take the stand in the trial.

Police have said four North Korean suspects fled Malaysia on the day of the murder, and the women's defence teams insist these individuals are the main suspects.

"His hands were trembling, I was wondering why".

"I can't remember exactly how many of us carried him on the stretcher to the ambulance".

The murder charge was read to Siti, 25, and Doan, 29, in their native languages and interpreters indicated they were pleading not guilty.

Rabiatul Adawiyah Mohd Sofi, a medical assistant, said Kim Jong Nam was at the clinic for just over an hour and moved to a hospital. She said Kim appeared to be in pain and told her someone sprayed liquid on his face.

"When I met him, his hands were clutching his head".

"His oxygen saturation level improved up to 67% while his blood pressure reading was at 92/70", he said, adding that the improvement in his vitals signs eventually saw pulse registering a 19/100 beats per minute. "His eyes were rolling and he was having a running nose".

She said his eyes were bloodshot and that he was sweating profusely.

The prosecution phase of the trial is scheduled for 23 days in October and November.
