Microsoft Is Working to Extend Exclusive Deal With PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

Following the announcements that "PUBG" will be arriving on Xbox One later this year, Bluehole, Inc. founder Chang Byung-gyu revealed that their company is also discussing the possibility of porting the game to other major consoles.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been hit with a storm of negative reviews on Steam, as Chinese players protest forced in-game advertisements that have begun to appear in the game's menu.

In an interview with Bluehole, Bloomberg states that they are "in talks" with Sony to bring the game to PS4 after the Xbox One release, however they don't really elaborate on how these talks are going, or whether they have settled on an exclusivity period.

Facebook will hire 1000 employees to control adverts amid Russian Federation investigation
Facebook has revealed that around 10 million people viewed the political ads taken out by a Russian entity on its platform. In many cases, the ads encouraged people to follow pages on those issues. "This is an issue we have debated a great deal".

No specific plans for the PS4 version have been announced yet, but PC and Xbox One owners should expect the finished game to launch some time this year.

Bloomberg contacted a Microsoft spokesperson for some official word on this new development, but the spokesperson declined to comment on the matter - "Right now, the team is exclusively focused on bringing the best game possible to Xbox One and PC". Developer Bluehole has yet to comment. It is said that Blue is "likely" to extend the exclusivity agreement between both parties. Bluehole's valuation has surged to 5.2 trillion won ($4.5 billion), up five-fold in just three months, according to 38 Communications, which keeps track of unlisted Korean stocks. With the chaotic, fast paced action and level of skill, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become one of the most streamed games on Twitch, with over 100,000 viewers at the time of this article. Microsoft did previously get a timed exclusive on Rise of the Tomb Raider, which came to PC and PS4 nearly a full year after the Xbox release.
