Cavaliers G Shumpert suffers foot injury

Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert will miss at least a week of action after suffering a left foot sprain during Wednesday night's preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks. "Shump", as he is known, then managed to walk to the sidelines under his own power, but he did not return to play.

Lue has experimented with Love at centre during training camp and believes the new-look line-up will create matchup problems for opposing centres as well as open the floor for LeBron James, Derrick Rose and others.

LeBron James and Jae Crowder.

Shumpert has racked up quite an injury history since he entered the league in 2011, but he appeared in a career-high 76 games during the 2016-17 season.

The good news for the Cavaliers is that these injuries happened in the preseason and there is plenty of time for them heal up and get started in the new season.

Shumpert's injury could complicate what already figures to be a challenging roster shuffle for Cleveland general manager Koby Altman.

However, while James and Love's production are obvious keys to their success moving forward, there are also three "Ds" that will determine how the Cavs season goes.

"We haven't played together still in like four years", Wade said.
