Islamic state claims Las Vegas shooting, says attacker recent convert to Islam

DONALD TRUMP ISIS penned a message to the US warning'submit or be slaughtered

The ISIS made this claim through its official Amaq news channel, The Telegraph report added.

"A false claim of credit in Las Vegas will effectively shred the Islamic State's news agency's credibility", Wood wrote, noting the serious damage a false claim could do to the terrorist group's credibility.

Abu Baker al-Maqdisi, a senior jihadist associated with the terrorist organization, told Breitbart Jerusalem that mass murderer Stephen Paddock was recruited by ISIS when he converted to Islam several months ago.

Investigators have not found evidence linking Paddock to any foreign terror group, and he was not known to have strong religious beliefs.

More than 50 people have been confirmed dead and 200 injured in the shooting, making it the deadliest in U.S. history.

Paddock reportedly killed himself as police moved in on the 32nd-floor hotel room he was using to shoot down on the crowd.

FBI to interview alleged shooter's girlfriend
An unidentified acquaintance of Danley who was reached by the Reno Gazette-Journal said, "She had nothing to do with this psycho". Prior to Danley's arrival in the U.S., Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said "we anticipate some information from her shortly".

A 46-minute audio recording appeared to show Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi praise the jihadis killed in the battle to retake Mosul and other former Isis territories.

Isis was also linked to a vehicle and knife attack in Edmonton, Canada, where a police officer found a flag used by the group in the perpetrator's auto.

However, when Isis claimed the attack on a casino in the Philippines that killed dozens of people, it was later left embarrassed when police later identified the attacker as a Filipino gambling addict who was US$80,000 in debt, saying it was a botched robbery that was not terrorism-related.

Gerges said the Las Vegas attack claim illustrates the extremely hard position ISIS faces at home and its lack of strategic coordination.

The announcement from Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse at a news conference Monday comes after the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack without providing evidence. "This is about trying to remain in the news cycle, trying to say we are still here", he said. "This is merely a way to garner more attention. even though the claim is patently. false".

But the group remains active in recruiting followers on social media, and has repeatedly called on its supporters to carry out attacks in Western nations.
