Italy legend Pirlo to retire from professional football

The New York City FC midfielder confirmed that he will be hanging up his playing boots at the end of the MLS season in December, and has been discussing his career with the media.

"Every single day you have physical problems, you can't train as you wish because there is always an issue".

"At my age, that's enough". You do not have to continue like this until you are 50 years old, no. "I'll do something else", he said.

"At 38 it is right to give young players the space to develop, I'm not angry, instead I will look to help my teammates and the coach". There are things that are said, but give me time to decide.

His long, prolific career saw him win the scudetto four consecutive years with Juventus before moving to MLS, with his years there preceded by time with Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Some local retailers sell the part.it's also available for purchase online for under $200. Pretty soon, bump stocks may not be on sale at all.

New York City still have two regular season games remaining, and could yet make the playoffs. Milan won the league after he joined but Dalla Bona struggled to break into a team that included the likes of Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Rui Costa, Alberto Ambrosini and Gennaro Gattuso.

And, in honour of the Italy legend, BT Sport compiled Pirlo's best highlights during his time at Juventus, which can be seen below.

"It's hard to build a new team, it takes time and faith and you know results won't arrive straight away". Like I say, I don't have that intention right now.

"After 25 years of football, I will be at home with my family. I'll keep myself in form playing golf and tennis".

Pirlo enjoyed a glittering career winning six Serie A titles, two Champions Leagues and a World Cup with Azzurri but at 38-years-old has decided enough is enough.
