White Nationalist group returns to Charlottesville with tiki-torches

Torch bearing white nationalists rallied again Saturday night in Charlottesville, Virginia, only two months after a protest in the city in which an anti-racism activist was killed.

The rally comes less than two months after James Alex Fields Jr., 20, allegedly rammed his vehicle into a crowd of anti-racist protesters in the city, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer. The crowd gathered, once again, around a tarp-covered statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, which is now "awaiting removal", according to the New York Times. Some gathered later on Saturday but it was after the torch-lit rally had already ended.

The marchers carried tiki torches and wore white shirts and khaki trousers. "We can catch up next time we're in town".

'Another despicable visit by neo-Nazi cowards, ' he wrote. You're not welcome here! Go home! Meantime we're looking at all our legal options.

"We came, we triggered, we left", added Spencer. The white nationalists showed up at the covered monument of Robert E. Lee (soon to be removed), chanted their chants, reasserted their claim that "the South will rise again", and left.

International Olympic Committee suspends Brazil's Nuzman after arrest in vote-buying scandal
The Rio 2016 committee's chief operating officer Leonardo Gryner was arrested in a separate raid in Rio on Thursday. The decision means subsidies and payments to the body from the International Olympic Committee have been blocked.

"We got in and out, there were no injuries, no major confrontations", Mr. Spencer said in another video posted on Twitter.

Spencer popularized the term "alt-right" - an umbrella term for white nationalists and other proponents of far-right ideas - and has espoused racist and anti-Semitic views, calling for "peaceful ethnic cleansing".

Officials with the Charlottesville police department did not immediately respond to requests for comment Saturday night.

"I think it's a damn shame that a white girl had to die for people to have to pay attention", Bro said.

At UVa, about 30 students and faculty stood outside UVa President Teresa A. Sullivan's residence, Carr's Hill, and chanted "blood is on your hands" and "all black lives matter". Police cars followed the tour bus to make sure the group was leaving the city. Charlottesville authorities are discussing the possibilities of legal action in response, according to a statement from local police.
