Vegas shooting leads Chicago Marathon to increase security

Las Vegas shooter booked rooms at other hotels near concerts

The Las Vegas massacre is the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, overtaking the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando on June 12 a year ago. "As you saw earlier this week the city conducts extensive public safety planning and training around major events, in close coordination with our law enforcement partners, to ensure public safety".

TMZ reports its sources say Paddock had never booked a room at the hotel before, nor had his girlfriend and that neither showed up for the August booking.

Paddock, 64, sprayed bullets into crowds enjoying the Route 91 Harvest Festival from the 32nd floor of the Madalay Bay Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip.

USA Today and the gossip site TMZ specifically reported that he reserved two rooms "facing" and "overlooking" the music festival, respectively, during its scheduled dates, though it's not known that he ever checked into the rooms or even traveled to Chicago. Both rooms had an August 6th checkout which is when the festival ends. This year the festival began on August 3 and finished on August 6.

Further information about Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock is slowly coming out in the days since the deadly shooting Sunday.

Speaker is open to idea of 'bump stock' ban
"Right now our focus. has been on healing and uniting the country", said press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders . Trump blasted the NBC News story as "fake news" from his Twitter account and demanded an apology.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) also said he was aware of the reports, but echoed Boston Police, noting that "because it's an ongoing investigation, I'm not going to speak any more to it than that".

Investigators say they now do not have information which links Paddock to more assailants.

The gunman behind the Las Vegas shooting massacre may have considered staging attacks in other cities, according to multiple reports.
