NFL Protests-Benched for Kneeling

NFL Protests-Benched for Kneeling

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the latest to stir up controversy regarding the National Football League protests, as he recently stated that any Cowboys player that "disrespects" the flag won't play, and Common has some serious thoughts on the matter.

The filing to the National Labor Relations Board, according to ESPN, states that "the employer, evidenced by repeated public statements, is attempting to threaten, coerce and intimidate all Dallas Cowboys players on the roster in order to prevent them from exercising concerted activity protected under the act by saying that he will fire any players involved in such concerted activity". However, he clarified Tuesday that players could conduct themselves similarly to how they did in Week 3 before the Cardinals game, when they kneeled before the anthem but stood arm-in-arm when it was played. Trump explained later that evening in a tweet that he had instructed Pence to leave the game between the Indianapolis Colts and 49ers if "any players kneeled, disrespecting our country". This comes after Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he would bench anyone who shows disrespect to the American flag.

Jones, in the team meeting held after practice, also offered the players a chance to speak with him one on one, the source said.

It would be lawful for the Cowboys to have a rule that only people who voted for a particular party in the last election could play for the team.

While Apple might've struck gold with Face ID, assembling the feature on an iPhone isn't as easy as unlocking one with it. As soon as we get some more details about the new iPad Pro, we will let you guys know.

But until a Cowboys player takes a knee or does something that Jones deems is "disrespectful to the flag", the policy will likely never be tested. "Period", Jones said, according to the Dallas Morning News.

But those political motives of kneeling likely would not protect the players from discipline. Around kickoff, Pence wrote on Twitter that he left because he would not "dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem". They are still being paid, and I don't think they necessarily have the right to play in games.

On Wednesday, Detroit Lions safety Glover Quin, the team's NFL Players Association representative, didn't want to talk much about Jones or potentially being required to stand for the anthem.
