Nissan made a DualShock-controlled vehicle to promote 'GT Sport'

Remote controlled GTR Front

The company has transformed the Nissan GT-R into the biggest remote control vehicle, which can be controlled using DualShock 4 controller to make the GT-R /C.

Silverstone, Northamptonshire - Nissan found a unique way to celebrating the release of Gran Turismo Sport, out in Europe next week, and its 20 years of involvement in the series; it built the ultimate radio-control auto.

The one-off project vehicle was extensively modified to be driven entirely by a PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controller to celebrate the release of Gran Turismo Sport, out in Europe and Australasia on October 18th, and marking 20 years of Nissan involvement in the Gran Turismo gaming series.

The GT-R/C has been put through its paces by Nismo racing driver Jann Mardenborough around Silverstone's famous National Circuit in the UK.

He managed to complete a lap of the circuit in just 1 minute 17 seconds - averaging 76mph and reaching a top speed of 131mph. To assist Mardenborough in remotely controlling the auto is a Racelogic VBOX Motorsport sensor, which relayed speed data to a LCD display in the helicopter cockpit. Damn right. Most of us will never have the opportunity to drive it, but we can play Gran Turismo Sport when it drops for the PS4 on October 17th in the U.S., October 18th in Europe and Australia and October 19th in Japan.

Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON)
The transaction was disclosed in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, which can be accessed through this link . Honeywell said the two spun-off business units together would generate annualized revenue of about US$7.5 billion.

Instead of connecting to a PlayStation though it connected to a micro-computer interpreted the joystick and button movements and transmitted them directly to the GT-R, with a primary control range of 1km. There were six computers in the auto that were able to update the controls 100 times per seconds.

Engineers have transformed a Nissan GT-R into the world's ultimate radio controlled racer - capable of 196mph - and raced it around Silverstone.

.

Dubbed the GT-R/C (R/C for "remote control"), the vehicle was actually a modified 2011 model with a top speed of 196 miles per hour.

"This was once-in-a-lifetime, truly epic stuff", said Jann."The GT-R /C has brought my two worlds together - the virtual of gaming and the reality of motorsport - in a way I never thought possible". As a victor of the Nissan GT Academy competition that combines virtual racing with actual track races, Mardenborough was a natural choice for the task.

James Brighton, JLB Design Ltd, added: "The GT-R /C presented some unique challenges and a number of engineering firsts for us".
