Trump sends signal with Corker attack - Source Thehill

Bob Corker, sending an unmistakable signal to other Republicans that public criticism of President Trump will be met with a fierce public scolding.

The only fix for a commander in chief who is treating his immensely powerful office like "a reality show" is a new commander in chief.

Since announcing his retirement, Corker has lashed out at Trump, saying in a New York Times interview that the White House is like "an adult day care center" and that Trump could lead the country into World War III.

He could have been referring to any of a few dozen mercurial outbursts, but likely the trigger was a Saturday tweet in which Trump asserted that "only one thing will work" to rein in North Korea - a statement that could only be read as a direct threat to strike Pyongyang militarily.

"I know they're recording it, and I hope you are, too", Corker said.

Buffon, Bonucci up for Ballon d'Or
The Ballon d'Or is judged exclusively by a panel of journalists after FIFA and France Football ended their partnership in 2015. Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne has been nominated in the 30-player shortlist for this year's Ballon d'Or Award.

- If Tennessee Senator Bob Corker thought retirement might be the easy way out of Washington, he may have to reconsider his rather surprising decision. "All you have to do is take a look", he said when asked if Corker was right.

Trump alleged Sunday morning in a Twitter tirade that Corker recently "begged" him for his endorsement, did not receive it and chose to retire because he "didn't have the guts" to run for reelection next year. "We're on the right path right now, believe me".

On Oct. 9, Corker stated that Trump had intentionally made inaccurate statements on a regular basis.

Senate Republicans are imploring President Donald Trump and Sen. When Corker later called Trump to tell him that he had chose to retire - a decision Corker made on his 65th birthday, August 24 - the president expressed disappointment, the congressional official said. After the outbreak of violent protests in Charlottesville, Va., Corker said that he didn't feel that Trump had demonstrated the "competence" or "stability" needed for a successful presidency.

Corker's comments have already infuriated Trump's base.
