Google's Duo voice chat app is about to become Android's FaceTime

Apple's IPhone X from Android User's perspective

This feature is headed to the first-generation Pixel, Android One, and Nexus devices.

Scott Charlston, the PR maven for Google's carrier partner Verizon, tweeted that you should head on down to the nearest store if you want a hands-on preview of the Pixel 2. The functionality lets you start a video call directly from three core apps: Android Messages, Contacts, and Phone.

Google says if ViLTE is not supported, then Duo will connect the video call to anyone with the app installed.

If both the caller and the recipient are on a carrier that supports ViLTE video calling, the calls will be routed through the carrier's ViLTE service. Google has further assured that it will be adding a new feature which allows users to switch from voice to video calls without disconnecting the app. However, Google is also working to being the feature to other Android devices as well.

Egypt: Khattab Gets 12 Votes in 2nd Round of Unesco Election
The new director-general will replace Irina Bokova in this post and be confirmed at the UNESCO General Conference in November. The agency's outgoing head, Bulgaria's Irina Bokova, told French radio that UNESCO's "universal mission was in jeopardy".

Last year, Google launched the video calling app, and now, it's integrating Duo into Android.

The official Wallpapers app from Google received a few new categories today, including a wallpaper specifically for all Pixel users that was showcased on the Pixel 2 at Google's October 4 event. You can also use an Android One device, but if you have one of those, chances are you're not doing video calling. When you try to make a video call, Duo looks at what's available.

This is an exciting new addition to Android, and you can see how it could eventually be integrated directly into Android.
