As acccusations against Harvey Weinstein continue surfacing, James Van Der Beek has come forward with his own experiences of sexual assault by Hollywood's "older, powerful men".

"In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Van Der Beek began by saying that "[what] Weinstein is being accused of is criminal", calling the disgraced movie mogul's actions "unacceptable - in any industry", adding to this support to "everybody speaking out". "I applaud everybody speaking out".

Van Der Beek, 40, opened up about his own experience, writing on Twitter that he understands "the unwarranted shame" that some of the women involved in the Harvey Weinstein scandal have suffered for not coming forward sooner. "There's a power dynamic that feels impossible to overcome", he wrote.

Actor James Van Der Beek said "older, powerful men" grabbed his behind when he was younger.

Weinstein has been accused of sexual misconduct by numerous women, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Rosanna Arquette, Cara Delevingne, and more. Also for anyone brushing off harassment as "boys being boys"...

Seven killed in Kenya's Turkana county
Reports indicate Lojore had been recalled before he hatched the attack against students he claimed were behind his woes. Turkana County Governor Josphat Nanok has condemned the incident saying the attack was meted on innocent students.

Earlier this week, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Terry Crews also admitted he was sexually assaulted.

In a series of 16 messages, Crews said he does "understand and empathize with those who have remained silent" over their alleged encounters with Weinstein, because he was once "groped" by a Hollywood executive. "He just grinned like a jerk", he tweeted, adding, "I was going to kick his ass right then- but I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear".

Crews said he was at a Hollywood function past year with his wife when the incident happened.

The optics of a 240-pound black man stomping a Hollywood honcho were not ideal for him, the former National Football League star explained, and an altercation likely would have landed him in jail.

He chose to let it go because he didn't want to be ostracized by someone with power and influence. While Weinstein initially apologized for his behaviour, he has also "unequivocally denied" any allegations of nonconsensual sex, spokesperson Sallie Hofmeister said in a statement to The Washington Post.
