After Pakistani forces successfully rescued an American-Canadian family that were in possession of the Haqqani network, an Afghan guerrilla insurgent group designated as a terror organisation by US, President Donald Trump on Saturday said that he is starting to develop a much better relationship with Pakistan and its leaders. Trump added that the Pakistan and other countries have started to respect United States again. USA defence secretary Jim Mattis is scheduled to visit Pakistan soon, followed by a visit of secretary of state Rex Tillerson.

According to media reports, wife Caitlan Coleman from the U.S., husband Joshua Boyle from Canada, and their three children, two boys and a girl, were recovered from custody through an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan Army. He said their release was a "positive moment" for USA relations with Pakistan.

"The Pakistani government's cooperation is a sign that it is honoring America's wish that it do more to provide security in the region", Trump said. Kabulov made that remark shortly after Trump accused Pakistan of "housing the very terrorists that we are fighting". As per reports, the couple were on a long trip when they were kidnapped in 2012. Their three children were born while the pair was in captivity.

The two countries still have conflicting interests - and the Trump administration's vow to apply more diplomatic pressure on Pakistan is unlikely to work, given Islamabad's growing alliance with regional heavyweight China, say analysts.

Earlier, while addressing a gathering at the Values Voter Summit, Trump said things happened with Pakistan, but America is starting to have a real relationship with it. "It needs to be seen whether the USA government keeps the heat on", the Indian official said.

The US flip-flop though, according to officials, is unlikely to see India reverse its policy of no talks with Pakistan until the latter takes some tangible action on terrorism. "The President is achieving real results on the global stage, as well", he said.

"We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time [when] they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting", he said, warning that the vital aid the U.S. offers to the country could be cut.
