Kurram Agency: 4 security personnel embraced martyrdom in mine blast

3 troops killed in landmine blasts in Pakistan

Security officials said initial reports showed that the drone fired at least four missiles at a house owned by a local militant commander having links with Haqqani network.

At least five people were killed today when a United States drone targeted a militant hideout on Pakistans border with Afghanistan.

He added that the compound was reduced to rubbles in the attack, killing all four people inside.

A government official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity for not being authorized to speak on sensitive matters, said the compound targeted Monday was very close to the porous border with Afghanistan in mountainous terrain. Identities of the slain people could not be ascertained immediately.

Jio Diwali Offer Gives 100% Cashback on Rs 399 Plan

The blast came a few days after the Pakistan Army recovered a Canadian-American family in the agency from captivity.

A military statement says the bomb went off Sunday on a mountainous route in the Kurram tribal region.

The first U.S. strike under the Trump administration killed two men riding a motorbike in Kurram, while the second suspected attack happened in late April in North Waziristan, one of seven tribal districts stretching along the Afghan border.

Also in March, a suspected United States drone strike killed two Afghan Taliban militants in a village near the Afghan border.
