Samsung Connect Tag Will Track Your Kids, Pets, or Valuables

Samsung Connect Tag

You can, for instance, set up your Connect Tag to trigger specific smart devices like lights or your TV to turn on when you approach your home.

Portable tracking devices that can be attached to a multitude of objects certainly aren't new, but Samsung is launching the first of these products that uses narrowband technology (NB-IoT, Cat.M1), a cellular communication standard used for securely connecting low-power Internet of Things devices.

The low-power NB-IoT, Cat.M1 tag uses cellular connectivity to provide location services and notifications to users.

The Samsung Connect Tag works with GPS, Wi-Fi based positioning (WPS), and cell towers to provide accurate indoor and outdoor location information. The device is that much small that it can be attached to a young child's backpack or can be placed in the collar of your pet. If you are one of those people who are always losing keys or a purse, you can attach a Connect Tag to them. The concept is similar to Bluetooth trackers like Tile, though they depend on a phone linked to the tracker's network coming within range of the tag to report location.

Vicious fight between football fans captured on video
In less than shocking news, Maraghy has been arrested for assault at least twice since 2013, reports TMZ . The Carolina Panthers fan caught on video punching a man multiple times has been released from jail.

The Samsung Connect Tag also offers several key features to minimize anxiety and increase usability. The tag now only works with Android devices. It has an on-demand feature by which you can request any Connect Tag's location when desired, by pressing a button on the smartphone.

Samsung has announced a new location-tracking accessory called the Connect Tag.

The Connect Tag is quite compact, as it's only 4.21 centimeters wide and 1.19 centimeters thick.

The Connect Tag has geo-fence support, which means it will alert you if it leaves or enters a predefined location - such as if your child enters school or your dog leaves the yard. It is backed by a 300mAh battery and can last for up to seven days on a single charge, according to Samsung. It will go on sale for a yet-to-be-disclosed price in Korea first before availability opens up in other countries in the following months.
