Mansfield Veterans Day Parade steps off Saturday, Nov. 11

Civil Air Patrol cadets fold the flag and DAR Piety Hill Chapter members co-host with the City of Birmingham at a previous Veterans Day ceremony

Between 38 and 40 units will be marching in the parade this year. At noon, the parade will end with a Veterans Day Ceremony at Marietta Square.

God has blessed us with this great nation and He has blessed us with the veterans who secure the freedom that we share today.

This year, the City of Mansfield and Mansfield Churches FOR THE CITY are joining with the American Legion Post 624 and the Mansfield Independent School District to recognize and honor our local Veterans with the city's first ever Veterans Day Parade.

Andrews celebrated veterans on Saturday, Nov. 4. with a parade down Main Street and a ceremony in the Library Pavilion.

After the parade, veterans and citizens are invited to the Farmer's Market Pavilion for a light meet and greet. Adult plates for non-veterans are $6 and $3 for children younger than 10.

Many other organizations and groups, Elks, Shriners, EMS departments, fire departments, "PAWS" Pets for Vets Group, motorcycle groups and vehicle clubs, including the Corvette Club, the Greenville VA Clinic, Carteret County Humane Society will be in the parade - all paying homage to America's veterans. Many of them, as well as other Veterans, have returned to our city and made this community their home.

After the parade, the Andrews Veterans Association led a ceremony to honor veterans and their families at the Library Pavilion behind the Andrews Public Library.

The celebration will honor veterans for their patriotism, love of country, willingness to serve, and sacrifice for the common good.
